1. Introduction
Welcome to HSBC SVNS Predictor game, where your predictions will earn you points. Compete against your friends, family and worldwide fans in the global leaderboard!
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to play, including registration, creating your grids, editing your selections, scoring and everything else you need to know to play.
2. Registration & Login
HSBC SVNS Predictor game is completely free of charge. Simply register or login with an existing World Rugby account to play.
3. Grid Selection
- Choose a grid cell to start the game. The cell you select will open for you to make your first prediction
- Make a selection per question. You can select a nation once for both Men's and Women's competition at any phase of a HSBC SVNS event.
- Swipe, tap or click through all 6 team-based questions and make a prediction for each one.
- Select your SVNS Star, the player you think will score the greatest number of tries in the selected event phase
- Review your selection and save to lock in your predictions before the games kick off.
- Follow along live and watch your points come in! You will score points for each grid based on how your selections performs in real-time
If you don’t want to manually select your first team, you have the option to auto-pick your grid. This will auto-populate all empty positions within your grid using random teams/players from the HSBC SVNS series.
Once you have successfully saved your grid you will be able to make as many changes as you like before the next round starts by taking advantage of your unlimited edits.
4. Lockout
HSBC SVNS Grid Predictor will implement a lockout mechanic whereby a saved grid will become locked as soon as the first match of each rounds starts. This means you can join in at any stage of the tournament, and your predictions will only be locked once the next round of matches begins.
If you miss out on the pools grid don’t forget you can still make predictions for the knockouts.
5. Scoring
Teams and Players will be awarded points based on their actual performances during the HSBC SVNS Events.

You will only receive points for the match with the most instances of each selection.
Eg: Australia selected as most line-breaks for Women and an Australian player selected as the Star Player.

Scoring in the Pool Stage
During the Pool Stage, scoring opportunities depend on when the selections are made E.g. if you make your predictions before the start of the tournament (Lockout 1), you will get the best score over all matches played. However, if you make your predictions after Round 2 starts (before Lockout 3), you will only get the score achieved in Match 3.

6. Leaderboards
Once your team has been saved, it will automatically be entered in the Global Leaderboard where you can see where you score against other users worldwide.
The overall Global Leaderboard includes all other users worldwide who have entered a HSBC SVNS Predictor grid.
